Stay With Me

Nancy

Dying
hurt.

Hacking
my heart
from yours
severing our
souls
ripping us
ruthlessly
apart

Lake water
filling my coffin
coveting
all offerings
drinks them
down
claiming
extinguishing
my life
in black
icy
moments

Yet
even there
you follow
come for me
and had I
gone too far
along that lighted path
to turn
or hear you call
Come back
my Catherine
Stay with me
I think
I know
I have no doubt
Beloved mine
you would
all willingly
have stayed
with me

for H, always

  1. oh so true!!!

  2. I think so, too, Brit, but I'm glad we didn't see the proof of it! Neither ever died and they live happily ever after...down there. I can sense them close by whenever we're in Manhattan!!! :) Nancy

  3. You are too kind to me. Don't you think we inspire one another to 'keep the dream alive'? I wrote 'alone' in the beginning but it's so much better to be surrounded by dear Friends who are involved in all the beauty. What a pretty world Vincent and Catherine and the rest have given us. Thank you for giving it life in your special way, Brit. Nancy
